Leaves can be eaten as usual and the larger white flowers are attractive to bees and butterflies. Full sun or partial shade Allium tuberosum Garlic chives - A slow growing slightly tender, deciduous perennial whose leaves have a strong lemon scent and can be used in cakes, puddings and tea. Ht 60cm Aloysia triphylla lemon verbena Perennial which dies down completely in winter, re-emerging in early spring. Can spread so needs containment. Full sun. Ht 60cm Armoracia rusticana horseradish - A hardy, compact, shrubby perennial with aromatic silver-green leaves. Full sun and drought tolerant once established. Ht 60cm Artemisia wormwood - Slightly tender perennial that enjoys some shade in the heat of the day. Light water requirement. Protect from very cold frosts. Fibrous, creeping underground roots which produce a red dye, stems a yellow dye. Ht. 50 cm Galium verum lady's bedstraw - A hardy, compact, shrubby perennial with blue flowers from mid summer. Full sun and drought tolerant once established. Ht 50cm Hyssopus officinalis hyssop - Hardy perennial which enjoys full sun and tolerates dry conditions. Leaves can be used in drinks and puddings. Attractive flowers for bees. Ht 70cm Melissa officianalis lemon balm - A strong peppermint scent and flavour to the leaves. Full sun. Attractive to bees. Ht 50 cm Mentha spicata mint, spearmint A strong mint flavour makes this a great cooking mint and the best mint to use in hot and cold drinks. Full sun. Flowers are attractive to bees.
